Dr. Derek Fingler - a 2000 Ontario Veterinary College graduate, practiced as an associate veterinarian in the Ottawa region before founding GVC in September 2003. In his “previous life” he obtained a bachelor of mechanical engineering degree from the Royal Military College of Canada and served as an Engineering Officer and Project Manager in the Navy. He lives in the Winchester area with his wife, their four children, a cat named Zazou, and their two dogs, Grace and Kia.

Dr. Sarah Slater - grew up in the Trenton area and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2004 after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. She practiced at veterinary hospitals in Winchester and Morrisburg before joining the GVC team in 2007. She lives in the south end of the "Greater Ottawa area" and shares her home with her husband, two dogs, Zuri and Max, and two cats, Mac and Mattie.

Dr. Norene Hyatt-Gervais - graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1987. She worked in Ottawa for one year then purchased the Morrisburg Animal Hospital which she owned for 10 years. Since selling MAH, Dr. Hyatt-Gervais has continued to work at various area clinics, including Morrisburg. She shares her country home with her husband, 4 children and a collection of pets, including: 4 cats, 2 dogs, 3 birds and 2 horses. She also has a 5 acre vineyard and is working on her sommelier certificate in her spare time. She is happy to be part of the Greenboro Veterinary Clinic team.

Dr. Tracy Godfrey - is a graduate from the Ontario Veterinary College. Dr. Godfrey initially planned to practice large animal medicine but quickly developed a fondness for our small animal companions and their health. Prior to obtaining her DVM, Dr. Godfrey completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph. Dr. Godfrey practiced in the Smiths Falls area before joining GVC. She currently resides south of Ottawa with her 3 dogs, one cat, and six horses. Having personally experienced the frustrations of owning a dog with environmental allergies, Dr. Godfrey holds a strong interest in dermatology. Other interests in veterinary medicine include soft tissue surgery and endocrine diseases though she continues to realize that her interests are frequently changing and expanding. Out of work activities for Dr. Godfrey include dog agility, camping, hiking, and horseback riding, in particular competitive trail riding and endurance.

Mike Levitsky (Office Manager/System Administrator) - lives with his wife Rachelle and newborn twin daughters, Avary and Brianna, in Ottawa’s south end with their cat Chewy. He also has a passion for parrots and currently lives with their Double Yellow-Headed Amazon Victoria. His other interests include Music, especially playing the acoustic/electric guitar and nutrition.

Amanda Desrosiers (Technical Department Manager) - is a Registered Veterinary Technologist graduate from St. Lawrence College in Kingston. Amanda has always held a deep love for animals that was likely nurtured from continuous exposure to pets because of a hobby that her mother pursued. Amanda’s interest and compassion for animals ultimately blossomed into a very suiting career choice. Amanda shares her home with her husband, Yvan, and (true to her passion) three dogs (BearBear, Brody and Bogart), 4 cats (Goliath, Modric, Gweedo and Willywonka), and a 30 gallon fish tank.

Kim Scharfe (Client Service Manager) - Kim has been working in the veterinary field for the last 10 years and her interest in animals goes back even farther. She has a special interest in behavior, usually practicing what she has learned on her own pets. Kim lives with her husband Kevin and their sons. In their home, the dogs, cat and cockatiel greatly outnumber the people.

Lindsay Hunter (Registered Veterinary Technician) - is a graduate of the Veterinary Technology program at the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus in Southwestern Ontario. She completed a degree in Biological Science, also from the University of Guelph. Her love of animals has always driven her career pursuits, and also her personal activities. She and her husband Darren share their home with 3 cats (Murray, Kit and Striker) and their dogs (Timber and Maple).

Lindsay Frankland (Registered Veterinary Technician) - 'Frankie' is a 2009 graduate from Algonquin College. After spending a summer working on a farm with a variety of animals, she quickly realized her future career path. 'Frankie' also holds a special interest in canine physical rehabilitation and dentistry. She currently resides in Ottawa with her two cats, (Hamlet and Ophelia) and her Green Cheek Conure, (MJ).

Alison Fry (Registered Veterinary Technician) - Graduated in 2003 from the Veterinary Technology program at St. Lawrence College in Kingston. Growing up, she cared for a house full of different pets and her love of animals made working in the veterinary field a natural career choice. Alison lives in Ottawa with her dog Mandy and her three cats Im, Squishy and Crank.

Christina Colton (Receptionist)- spent a number of years working in advertising after completing a BA at the University of Western Ontario and receiving a Marketing diploma from St. Lawrence College, Kingston. Her love of animals prompted her to join the veterinary field and she has been enjoying this rewarding career since 2001. She earned her Veterinary Assistant diploma and enjoys continuing education in the field. She lives in Manotick with her daughter, two happy Labrador Retrievers, Magnum and Kona and a Siamese named Phebe.

Victoria Rooney (Receptionist) - Victoria has been working in the veterinary field for over 4 years. She is very interested in animal medicine and always keen to learn new things. Victoria is particularly interested in parasites and various dermatology issues. Victoria looks forward to caring for a pet someday and she is currently researching different breeds.

Samantha Brown (Lead Technician Assistant) - With a strong family bond and a continuous exposure to a variety of animals during childhood, Samantha has followed her lifelong dream to become a technician assistant. With all her experience nurtured from her mother and encouraged and supported by her sister (GVC’s Amanda), she has reached her goal to be able to offer extraordinary care and love towards pets. She currently shares her home with her husband, 2 children, 2 cats and a variety of exotic birds and pocket pets.

Cassandra MacQueen (Technician Assistant) - Currently lives with her partner James and the cats that rule their home: Mouse, Tigger, Timmy and Suzee. After moving from Ottawa to Morrisburg, her connection and love of animals naturally changed her career direction from Information Technology to becoming a technician assistant/receptionist in a veterinary clinic. She considers being able to spend much of her day directly involved with caring for pets the most rewarding job of all! Being in this field is a dream come true for Cassandra.

Arielle Weir (Technician Assistant) - lives with her four cats, Bella, Luka, Missy and Munchkin. Since getting her first cat at the age of 5 she has wanted to become a Veterinarian. Arielle is currently studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of Ottawa in and once finished she plans to attend Vet School.
