Fleas
Fleas are not fun. Not only do you have to contend with a possible infestation in your home that may be difficult to eradicate but some dogs and cats can demonstrate flea-bite allergy dermatitis (FAD) where they become excessively itchy due to fleas (or even one single flea) and chew and scratch themselves incessantly causing serious damage. In addition, fleas are the intermediate host for a species of tapeworm; a flea infection increases the likelihood that your pet will develop this gastrointestinal infection.
